Sector Support and Development has been extended a further 12 months to July 2027.
We are not yet aware of our scope however will commence planning for the new financial year as soon as this is received.

Budget Announcement

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission protects the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of older people accessing aged care services. The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission works with and educates the aged care sector to build confidence and trust in Australian Government-funded aged care.
This includes:
registered providers (providers)
aged care workers (workers)
responsible persons
digital platform operators
Monitoring is a regulatory activity to collect information about provider or worker compliance with their obligations under the Aged Care Act. Monitoring helps Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to understand if risks and harms to older people are being managed.
Providers that send branded SMS messages with an organisation or service name as the header must register their SMS sender ID by 30 June. This will ensure your messages are not disrupted.
Contact your telco or messaging provider as soon as possible to register your sender ID on the Australian Communications and Media Authority's (ACMA) Sender ID Register.
From 1 July, messages sent using a sender ID that is not registered will be labelled 'Unverified' on your recipients' phones. They'll also appear as a single message rather than in an ongoing message thread from your organisation.
This is part of efforts to stop scammers using branded text messages to impersonate well-known businesses or brands.

Specialisation Verification Framework 23 April 2026
Specialisation Verification aims to help older people with diverse backgrounds and life experiences, along with their families and their carers to find aged care providers who are verified as providing specialised services. Providers are assessed for Specialisation Verification at outlet level; this recognises that each outlet is unique in its service provision to aged care recipients. An outlet is the location or site where that provider is based or delivers services.

Ethnic Communities Council NSW’s "Hear and See Me" Program is currently seeking bilingual storytellers from Arabic, Vietnamese, Cantonese-speaking, Mandarin-speaking, Hindi, and First Nations backgrounds to participate in a national series of audio and video podcasts. The Program supports people living with vision loss, low vision, hearing loss, or deafness by sharing accessible, culturally appropriate information and lived experience stories in community languages.
If you're comfortable sharing aspects of your personal journey, including your experiences navigating daily life, accessing supports and services, overcoming challenges, building confidence, and participating in community life. As a Storyteller you would be helping to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide practical advice and encouragement to others within their communities.
Interviews will be conducted in a supportive and respectful environment, with participants able to choose whether they wish to remain anonymous. Join Sweltering Cities, Disability Advocate El Gibbs, and Dr Elizabeth Humphrys and Professor Beth Goldblatt from UTS alongside a panel of leading disability advocates and experts for a vital, participatory symposium. Together, we will move beyond simply identifying the problems and start designing the solutions for a cooler, more inclusive future.
This event is for advocates, community members, policymakers, and health professionals who believe that designing well for people with disability means designing well for the whole community.
