Stage 3 changes to reporting requirements for CHSP providers will be introduced in the Data Exchange (DEX) later this year.

There are a range of new resources to help prepare for the changes.

Providers with access to the DEX staging environment can preview the Stage 3 changes in the test site now.

SSD partners from across Victoria, including Grampians Sector Development Team, are facilitating a series of consultations to gather the perspectives of Victorian Support at Home providers in relation to the current Support at Home Program Senate Inquiry. 

The inquiry’s Terms of Reference include consideration of:

1. The ability for older Australians to access services that enable them to live safely and with dignity at home;
2. The impact of co-payment contributions for independent services and everyday living services on the financial security and wellbeing of older Australians;
3. Trends in, and the impact of, pricing mechanisms on consumers;
4. The adequacy of financial hardship assistance available to older Australians experiencing financial difficulty;
5. The potential impacts on the residential aged care system and hospitals;
6. The impact on older Australians transitioning from the Home Care Packages Program;
7. Thin markets, including those affected by geographic remoteness and population size;
8. The impact on First Nations communities and culturally and linguistically diverse communities; and
9. Any other related matters.

Two formal responses will be developed from this consultation process, including a dedicated response from First Nations organisations.

Initial feedback will be gathered via survey, which will be released in the near future.   This will be emailed directly to all providers in the Grampians Region.

Following the survey process, a series of roundtable discussions will be held to further explore emerging themes and to clarify or confirm key insights where required.  There will be limited places available at the roundtables, so if you are keen to be involved – we would encourage you to register your interest now.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission have listed a publicly available register of all Registered Providers.

The register contains Registration dates (start and end), services provided, and any compliance action that has been taken by the Commission including suspension details, revocation and banning orders.

Child Safety and Compliance Statement for CHSP providers:

• Section 166-628 of the Aged Care Rules prescribes that a CHSP registered provider must give a report (the child safety compliance statement) to the department each year.

• CHSP registered providers must submit an annual statement regarding their organisation's compliance with state, territory and commonwealth laws relating to employing, engaging, or instances where there is incidental contact with children, in accordance with the CHSP grant agreement.

• This is in accordance with the National Child Safety Requirement 4.

• CHSP registered providers must submit the report using the template provided by the department and by 31 March each year.

• A template for this statement will be provided in early March and must be submitted by 31 March. This statement is retrospective and covers the period 1 January to 31 December of the previous calendar year.
